Before and After: Oh so Zen
When the client approached me about remodeling their master bathroom they spoke of a zen space and they told me of their love for Japanese soaking tubs and organic elements. They also spoke of their dislike for the wallpaper and the lack of storage space, even thought the bathroom is spacious.
Here are a few before pictures.
We began by removing the cabinetry, countertops, and the pony wall that divided the room where the jacuzzi tub sat. We gave the room big format floor tile instead of carpet, and added walnut and zebrawood floating vanities, including a linen closet.
The quartz countertops, slate splash, and white onyx sinks give the room the organic elements that the client was looking for, while providing contrasting colors that capture the same shades as the wood from the vanities and the floor tile.
The cabinet hardware was selected to mirror the birch encapsulated on the Lumicor we used as a backdrop accent wall behind the tub. Lumicor uses all natural branches harvested from sustainable crops to make this product, how cool is that?!
And of course there is this beautiful tub made from hammered copper. A true beauty!
Finally, we simplified the toilet room, gave the bathroom new doors, and removed the blinds from both windows to allow the light to come into the room.
