These are the days

I don't normally post on Sundays, but considering the amount of radio silence around here I understand all of you who have contacted me to see if I am okay/alive/still pregnant. The answer is yes I am still here, alive, and very much still pregnant. As proof I am willing to offer the above photo taken yesterday  on the coastal trail, which is pretty much where you can find me any given day because:
a} It's my favorite place in the world,
b} Hello 70 degrees in May! I mean, check out those mountains behind me.

Anywho, my point is I think I have hit that part of pregnancy people call 'nesting', and since my home is pretty much ready to welcome this kid, despite myself, my soul is also doing some house cleaning, preparing for the changes ahead. It's a funny thing how I have become this reticent, private, shy-like being that craves solitude. If I didn't know any better I'd say I have become an {gasp!}introvert!

But fret not, my friends, I am sure it's just a phase. These are the days, you know?

These are the days:
- when I am physically uncomfortable
- when I have nothing to wear
- when ice cream is a necessity
- when less is more
- when I constantly remind myself to not over think but just breathe instead
- when the world seems too busy for my pace
- when I wish my mom lived closer
- when my patience is short
- to take other people's opinions lightly

These are the days that remind me of that 10,000 Maniacs song:

These are days you'll remember, never before and never since, I promise will the whole world be warm as this, and as you feel it you'll know it's true, that you are blessed and lucky it's true, that you are touched by something that will grow and bloom in you. These are days, you'll remember when May is rushing over you with desire to be part of the miracles you see in every hour. You'll know it's true, that you are blessed and lucky, it's true that you are touched by something that will grow and bloom in you.
